During the 2021-2022 school year, more than 1,600 books were banned from American school libraries, according to a report from PEN America, an organization dedicated to protecting free expression in literature.
And the number of bans are only increasing.
64 titles (4%) include characters and stories that reflect religious minorities, such as Jewish, Muslim and other faith traditions. Currently, Texas and Florida lead the nation in book bans, but what are the most commonly banned books about Paganism and Witchcraft in America?
